Tom Baker has admitted that he “didn’t like K-9” during his time on Doctor Who.

Speaking at the launch of Doctor Who on Horror Channel, Baker said: “I didn’t like K-9 at all. Every time we had a shot [together] it meant that I had to get on my knees, which reminded me of the days when I was a Catholic, and it was pretty bloody boring being reminded of those days.”

Baker revealed that he had suggested the BBC get rid of K-9 altogether, but that K-9 was too big a part of the show.

“The dog couldn’t move quickly in the old days,” he said. “It was retrieved in rehearsal by John Leeson [voice of K-9], actually playing the dog, he actually moved around.”

“I said ‘Why don’t we give him another costume and get him to answer the phone or play chess or something’. But by that time, of course, the BBC had calculated that they were marketing K-9 and they didn’t want any discussion about that.”

The Fourth Doctor travelled with two versions of K-9, and despite his initial feelings, he admitted that he “finally got used to it.”

Happy birthday David Tennant!
The Tenth Doctor himself turns 43 years old today. Tennant’s birthday comes not long after current Doctor Peter Capaldi's and Peter Davison's, the Fifth Doctor (and Tennant's father-in-law).
Here’s to a great day for the brilliant David Tennant! Allons-y!

Some various lovely moments from the Hunters of the Burning Stone comic

I’m going to make the assumption that since Moffat’s ‘The Night of the Doctor’ made the expanded universe officially canon (when Eight mentioned his companions names)- that Barbara and Ian officially got hitched in canon. And the Eleventh Doctor was there to view it. <3

Isn’t this also the same comic where we find out it was the eleventh Doctor who went back and jammed the Chameleon Circuit?

Yep, and it’s awesome.
